About Us
About the Owner
Alex Pelt was born and raised in Caddo Mills. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture with an emphasis in Ornamental Horticulture in 2014 from Texas A&M Commerce. He studied turfgrass while attending college and interned at two golf courses as a maintenance technician.
Upon graduating college he worked as an assistant superintendent for an erosion control construction company for two years where he oversaw day to day operations and the grassing and irrigation operations. With this education and experience he founded Top Notch Landscapes in the Spring of 2016.
He is constantly learning and developing his craft. He is a licensed irrigator LI0021888, certified irrigation auditor, licensed commercial pesticide applicator, certified arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture, member of the Dallas Irrigation Association and member of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association. He is a Hunt County Master Gardener where he volunteers his time to answer the public's questions and concerns regarding their landscapes, in particular, tree disease diagnosis.
Alex is married to his high school sweetheart, Christi, and they have a beautiful baby girl Alice, born December of 2014, and two handsome baby boys, Silas, born October 2017 and Milo, born July 2020. He enjoys spending time with family, visiting zoos, arboretums and museums in his free time.
